This was my first cruise but some of our group have cruised before. We loved the ship. I would take all meals in the restaurant, the service is second to none and the food is exquisite. The restaurant staff and stewards are all lovely and friendly; they know how to make you feel comfortable. There is a pub lunch available on board too, it was really good. Our rooms were lovely and just big enough....

Food 100% : entertainment at times magic and at times very average : hygiene was perfect : service from waiting staff and the butler staff first class. How they deal with issues is though sadly a big problem.

The first half of the cruise was good. Good cabin,food, service.
The second half very disappointing with missed ports of call, 3 extra days at sea and an outbreak of Norovirus ( not the first on that ship either)

The decor and ambience of the ship gave a feeling of calm and relaxation not found on other cruises. The feeling of no pressured sales of alcohol and no "Butlin Style Sailaways" gave a serenity to the ship. It did not fail to create a holiday atmosphere though as there was sufficient music and on board entertainment to set a cheerful mood.

We are regular cruisers and our previous cruises on all ships, particularly Royal Carribean have been outstanding.
We had booked this Cunard cruise from New York because of the itinerary, their reputation and our highlight- to sail pass the Statue of Liberty.
Our experience was the total opposite;
* changed our itinerary from Grand Turk to St Maarten, extremely disappointed
* we did NOT sail....

This was my first cruise, I must say that I was not prepared for the amount of luxury and variety aboard the Queen Mary 2. The service was first class, the staff and fellow passengers are incredibly well mannered as they understand the meaning of civility and how it can add to your experience.

There is something different about the Queen Victoria, I have been on a few cruises and this is by far my favourite. The service on this cruise is far superior to any I have experienced. There are classy cruises and then there is the Queen Victoria.
The moment I stepped aboard I had a sudden feeling that this would be a completely different kind of cruise.
